Borealis develops and markets high quality carbon offset projects based in Northern British Columbia. We develop our own class-leading afforestation projects and support the development and commercialisation of emissions reductions from projects in renewable energy and methane destruction. We also sell in Canada from a leading portfolio of emissions reduction credits from over 50 international projects verified to CCAR, VCS and CDM.
Borealis is a group of employee-owned and operated firms in Northern British Columbia. We have brought our professional skills, significant operating capacity and local relationships together to engage new opportunities as our communities come to terms with the social & economic impacts of the mountain pine beetle epidemic. The pine beetle has destroyed over 14 million hectares of forest, an area larger than Nova Scotia and New Brunswick combined.
Our 50,000 tonne McPhee Creek demonstration project is complete in 2009. Our 1 million tree, 400,000 tonne Nechako Valley Project is under development in 2009 and 2010.
